USAID Extends Support for Radio Series in Zambia

The development, production, broadcast, monitoring, and evaluation for the four-year USAID Community Radio Program will continue with sequels to Kwishilya (“Over the Horizon) and Siñalamba (“Breaking the Barrier”).

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to continue Kwishilya and Siñalamba,” says PMC Program Manager Erica Goldberg. “Our team will build upon the impact made through the first 156-episode seasons and continue to engage our established audience while also having an opportunity to reach new listeners.”

HOW PMC SHOWS GUIDE AUDIENCES THROUGH THE STAGES OF CHANGE

Our shows and media campaigns are created with the Stages of Change in mind—guiding audiences through change while they are also entertained. In order to achieve this goal, we must understand the audience and where they currently fall on the path to change. If someone is in the pre-contemplation stage, for example, PMC cannot immediately begin role modeling a different behavior without introducing information about what that behavior is, why one would do it, and how they would go about doing it.
